Wheelchair-accessible vehicle exempt from ULEZ until 2027

Wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs) — vehicles that have been specially modified so a wheelchair user can travel in them — do not have to pay the ULEZ charge. This exemption runs until 24 October 2027, following an extension that TfL granted in 2023. If your vehicle is correctly registered as a WAV, any ULEZ penalty charge notice issued to it is a mistake.

Legal basis

Greater London LEZ Charging Order — WAV exemption; TfL ULEZ Exemption Scheme

How to identify this in your case
