Vehicle is exempt from LEZ as electric, hydrogen or agricultural

Certain types of vehicle are automatically allowed inside a Low Emission Zone and cannot be fined for entering it. The exempt types are: fully electric vehicles; large goods vehicles that run on natural gas or hydrogen; and vehicles in an agricultural class, such as farming vehicles, mowing machines, snow ploughs, and gritters. If your vehicle falls into one of these categories, the penalty should not have been issued.

Legal basis

SSI 2021/177 reg 3(1)(e), (f); VERA 1994 Sch 1 para 1ZA; Sch 2 paras 19, 20

How to identify this in your case

Vehicle is electric, hydrogen, or in agricultural class; V5C tax class shows agricultural/special vehicles/electric.
