Two charges for one stay — the private parking code only allows one
If a private parking company charged you twice for the same visit — one continuous stay, car never moved — their own official rulebook only lets them charge once. That's clause 8.3 of the Private Parking Single Code of Practice: no more than one charge per vehicle per calendar day for the same parking event. The second charge breaks the code, and that's your ground to get it cancelled. Two honest catches: if your car left and came back, that counts as a new visit they're allowed to charge for separately — so it only works for one unbroken stay. And this is private operators only (companies in the BPA or IPC schemes) — not council or Irish Garda tickets.
