The law sets exact fine amounts depending on what you are accused of. The amounts are: €200 for misusing a disabled permit, €150 for parking in a disabled bay without a permit, €80 for parking on a footpath, grass margin, median strip, cycle track, bus lane, bus-only street, or an EV recharging bay, €60 for not displaying a tax disc, and €40 for everything else (such as single or double yellow lines, clearways, school entrances, loading bays, pedestrianised streets, and pay-parking breaches). If your ticket demands any amount other than the correct one for what you are accused of, the warden had no power to issue it for that sum and the ticket is defective.
