No-Parking Sign (RUS 019) — Missing Information Plate or Outside Stated Period
Article 36(2)(b) of S.I. 182/1997 prohibits parking where the RUS 019 No Parking sign is provided only 'during the period indicated on the information plate accompanying such traffic sign'. Article 4(4) requires the information plate to indicate the period during which the prohibition applies. If there is no information plate, or the vehicle was parked outside the period stated on the plate, the article 36(2)(b) prohibition does not bite.
Legal basis
Road Traffic (Traffic and Parking) Regulations 1997 (S.I. 182/1997) art.36(2)(b) and art.4(4).
How to identify this in your case
Photograph the RUS 019 sign and the space below/around it: is there an information plate stating the operative period? Note the time of the alleged contravention against the plate hours.
