M50 eFlow - Pay Within 8pm Deadline
The M50 toll is a barrier-free system. Under the eFlow toll bye-laws, the toll for a journey on the M50 must be paid by 8.00pm on the day after the day of travel. Many drivers misunderstand the deadline. If payment was made within the window, no toll violation occurred and any subsequent unpaid toll notice / penalty is wrongly issued. Always check the date of the journey and the date payment was attempted.
Legal basis
Roads Act 1993 (as amended by Roads Act 2007); West-Link Toll Scheme; M50 Toll Bye-Laws 2008 (S.I. No. 484/2008); TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) regulations.
How to identify this in your case
Bank or eFlow account confirmation showing payment within the by-8pm-next-day window. Common error: weekend travel paid on Monday morning (still within window). Bank Holiday confusion.
