Disability Parking Privilege Under Wis. Stat. §346.503

Wis. Stat. §346.503(2) and §346.50(2)(a)-(b) grant holders of physically disabled person license plates or special identification cards the right to park in any parking space, including those reserved by ordinance for limited time, without paying any meter fee, and without being subject to time limits. The privilege extends to vehicles transporting the disabled person. Citations for meter overstay, time-limit violation, or disability-zone violation must be dismissed if a valid plate or ID card was visible/possessed at the time. Note: Milwaukee has enhanced enforcement of disability placard misuse, but valid use remains fully protected.
