Wrong License Plate / Plate Mismatch on Citation
A parking citation must accurately identify the cited vehicle by license plate, state, and ideally make/model and VIN. If the plate or state on the citation does not match the registered vehicle, the citation cannot be enforced against the registered owner — the city has charged the wrong person. Kentucky district courts and Louisville Metro PVB consistently dismiss tickets with plate mismatches. This is a fatal documentation error.
Legal basis
Louisville Metro Code Ch. 72; LFUCG Code Ch. 17; due-process protections of Kentucky Constitution §11; KRS §186A (registration matching)
