M50 default toll escalated out of sequence / before the clock ran

How to identify this in your case
The eFlow letter shows a penalty far above the base toll (e.g. the ~€55 or ~€135 figure) but the demand/'unpaid since' date is fewer than 14 days (for the middle tier) or fewer than ~70 days (for the top tier) after the day of travel. Compare the date you used the road, plus one day, plus 14 (then plus 56) against the date the higher penalty was applied.
